However this unpatriotic act of government agencies will deter further indigenous investment of such magnitude

Comment on NMDPRA boss, Farouk Ahmed, faces backlash from Nigerians for comments on Dangote Refinery   by Abdulsalam https://nairametrics.com/2024/07/20/nmdpra-boss-farouk-ahmed-faces-backlash-from-nigerians-for-comments-on-dangote-refinery/#comment-819734 Sun, 21 Jul 2024 09:44:28 +0000 https://nairametrics.com/?p=493969#comment-819734 Dangote is a business man and he has really studied Nigeria context. Those demanding for bribe hardly contribute anything to your business progress. And they cannot turn a small stone once they are out of office. They are seeing dangers in Dangote refinery being operational because Nigerian will better track the qantity of crude oil being produced on daily basis. And funny stories of crude oil or refined petroleum product disappearing on an oil ship without the ship capsising will be ended. Where was Faruk Ahmed and his agency when resident of Abuja and Lagos woke up to see their vehicle engines got knocked some years back. Was it Dangote that supplied that Fuel. Certainly No.
Faruk is only playing the script given to him. Do not expect anything better from people like him. People that are not ashamed of leading important sector like petroleum and the refineries in Nigeria are not working and they look comfortable in fact they look very comfortable.
Dangote should not be discouraged because the masses know the real enemy of Nigeria. BYD was demarketed few years ago but today they are one of the leaders in electric vehicle sales.
I will call on president Tinubu to re-evaluate Nigeria stake in Dangote refinery. Why investing 7.5% as against the initial 20%? Is this a deliberate attempt to make the refinery dead on arrival. Because this translates to the level of confidence the government has in the refinery.
We pray that Allah judge all those who intentionally lead Nigerian into perpetual poverty. Allah yahisa.

Someone should please inform these incompetent clowns in the Nigerian government that it cannot fine or tax its way to prosperity. The irony is that the President is gallivanting all over the globe (including attending even the opening of envelopes) like Olabsisi Ajala on steroids, supposedly in search of foreign investment and investors, and yet every other day the government he heads finds a way to illustrate in practical ways why Nigeria is a hostile (and frankly a terrible) place to do business!
