Need Tagline Help For A Niche Hobby Store

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Wow! I just came across this forum and all I can say is WOW ! there is so much help here!

Here's my problem. I have been brainstorming like crazy to come up with a tag line for our new internet business, Geddie's Toys. We offer the complete line of Breyer model horse collectibles/toys. We started in April of 2008 although I have been active in the hobby since I was alot younger. We offer over 200 products and we really market ourselves by donating to shows, helping out other hobbyists on model horse forums and such.

We market to mainly women aged 18-50. There is alot of collector's in the hobby that are still showing at 55! Alot are real horse lovers but due to their lifestyle can't afford a real one so these models' fill that void for women.

Alot of young girls collect as they start out as horse lovers and their parents buy them the plastic ones instead of real ones and the passion just evolves from there

We offer, IMO the best customer service in our hobby niche and ship all orders the same day they are placed and also include little Thank you gifts with every order

I am undecided between a catchy tag line like - "Your 1 stop shop for everything Breyer!" or something more factual like -" Same Day Shipping and #1 in Customer Service"

I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions

Thank both of you very much for your input. We do sell only Breyer's although we are looking into expanding into other horse toy lines over the next few years.

Since we haven't had an e-commerce site until now (its in the works as I type this) & I have had to compensate for that. All of our feedback has been great from our customers. Such as our very quick email response time, same day shipping, the extras in the box, etc.

I do want something catchy. And I do know that my 2nd suggestion is to generic. I have worked very hard since April to set us apart from all other dealers and get folks to notice us first. Like having raffles for special models, quirky fun contests and drawings. Other dealers in our niche have never even attempted that.

I am undecided if I should go with something fun & catchy to make us stand out more, or something tried and true showing professionalism

I'd like to hear more input

Welcome to the site. Often it seems as though we all contribute to a work in progress. Like thinking out loud! It's fun to participate.

I think I'll recommend we go with something like

You deserve the best and you've found it.

In your text you can go on about your service, prices, shipping, attention to detail, history of the business, dedication to the trade, etc. It leaves you open to add additional product lines too. I don't think it is necessary for you to be too specific, the reader is looking for Breyer horses, or collectibles and they've landed at your site. Testimonials from satisfied customers would be appropriate. I don't think I'd go with anything "cutesy" "don't horse around - shop Geddies." With a name like Geddies Toys - you will get lots of non-horse hits. Are you a big enough dealer to get any support from Breyer? Can you say, One of the Top Breyer Dealers in the Country? I'd make it a goal to portray yourselves as the "Breyer authority." "Yes, others sell Breyers, but they don't know Breyers like we do" can be a part of your pitch.

    Good Luck!
