Is The Ask.com Banner Ad On Here Making You Crazy?

Posted by Inbox_Interactive on 250 Points
It's only happened a few times, but whenever I get unlucky enough to be on a page on which zedo.com is serving up its Ask.com banner, I get a new browser window opened every few seconds, taking me to ask.com.

There's a search function in the ad, and it's as if I've entered a query in the search box, which I haven't.

WOW, that's annoying when you're trying to answer a question and you keep getting taken to a new (and unrequested!) page.

Curious if anyone else has had this same problem.

That would be annoying...but I don't get pop-ups or banner ads at all when I'm here.

You may have 2 windows running IE. I do that often.

I just see a lot of ads for a local firm's content management system. No pop ups.

Run adaware and see if that clears up the issue.

It is not a pop-up. It's a 728 x 90 banner ad for Ask.com served by zedo.com. If you do not have images disabled, then you are likely being served the ad, much like you are probably seeing other advertisements here; they are simply part of the Web page.

It's as if the ad, which has a search feature enabled within, thinks that I'm submitting a search and then taking me to the ask.com page.

Ah,well. When it happens, I'll just click out, go back to the page, and then hope that I am served a different ad.

    Thanks for replies so far.

Yes, I get Juliet’s shivering “You have won $3000” box which clicking yes or no on it re-directs me to a crap website. I thought that the Advertising Sales department of MarketingProfs had been sold a bummer!

So...where'd you each spend your $3,000?
