Name For A Fitness And Pilates Studio

Posted by ginachua on 250 Points
I'm looking for a catchy one word name for my fitness and Pilates studio. I will be doing functional training, a bit of rehab work and Pilates in my studio. I'm looking for a word with a punch, for example, "crunch" or "oomph" that could give connotations to exercise. Please help with ideas!

Lots of options...but lots of questions - who is your target audience (age/sex)? what area are you opening it in? any specific competitor names you wish to stay away from...?

Personally, I always wanted to work out in a place that's called "Damn it, Gym!"...but I'm a nerd. So there.

We can focus on the action involved in the exercise with words like "Activate" turning into "Active8" for the sake of some playful logo play...or focus on the reason people come there, to "TransForm" (I can easily see this as a two-tone logo with the first half, "Trans" in black and the rest, "Form" in a power color that fits your branding. Might even work with CAPS/lower case - "transFORM" which brings attention to form...thus exercising right...posture...positions...etc etc.

There are different variations on said theme with "reFORM"...since you mentioned Pilates...there's always "Contrology" which was its original name.

Other words that might work on their own, especially with a clever logo/branding treatment:

    Vitality
    Peak
    Meta - (anything really...like MetaBody)
Fit (fit-ness, fit-in your old clothes, etc.)
    Transition
    Form
    Core - CORE/ACT - sounds like "correct" in a way...lame, I know, but I'm trying!

I'm trying to come up with something that rhymes with Kinetic or resembles it enough since that's always a good word.

    QUESTION: why one word?

My main customers are expat housewives around the area. Also, I don't just want to do one aspect of fitness and would like it to be more tall rounded. I'm nestled in a very niche settlement surrounded by lots of greenery and arty farty neighbors. I wanted a one word name because everyone is called core Pilates, peak Pilates, moving body, power moves, the functional training institute, etc. I feel like having something a bit different and unique. Thanks!

Words that rhyme with Kinetic? There's loads. Most of them inappropriate to the required utlisation, but a couple of good ones are Frenetic and Aesthetic. Avoid Diabetic and Anaesthetic. Nobody will want that.

Words that might be more general to all-round health and fitness include Vitality, Balance, Equilibrium, Poise. Silhouette might imply shapeliness. Svelte, while hard to say, is usually well understood to imply a slim, healthful figure for men or women.

    Hope that helps

Since it's a group of expat wives, maybe the target message is about some excitement and sense of community.

I personally like the thought of a gym as a sense of adventure and achievement:
