Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
4 credit unions recently amalgamated into 1 big credit union and I'm developing a newsletter for the employees to keep everyone informed of developments. I need a name for the newsletter. Anyone have any ideas?

What, if anything, do the four credit unions have in common with each other? What's the purpose of the newsletter? What are you trying to accomplish with it? How will you measure success?

If it's strictly to keep everyone informed about what's going on, you can probably get by with "The Latest News from XYZ Credit Union." No need to get too clever with the name.

If you want to be a little more creative, it would help to know what behaviors or thinking you're trying to encourage, and how you want the brand to be experienced -- both internally and externally.

I like some of wnelson's suggestions. The purpose is to keep employees "in the know" and also provide timelines of all the changes that will be taking place within the organization. we want keep everyone in the loop.
I don't want to use anything with the word "teller" since we don't call our tellers that. They're called member service reps. I want to encourage a working together, team spirit.

Yes. Having been through consolidations/mergers/acquisitions before, I anticipated the purpose - thus the theme I was on. And as His Eminence, Mr. Goodman suggests, keep it simple, straight forward, and avoid clever. The more clever it is, the more you risk that your audience will mistrust it as a "selling" action versus information. From my experience, in times of change like this, openness is key to keep everyone on board and trying to sell the "deal" to them is less effective. As you probably know, consistency in message is key, just like a branding strategy. That being said, your newsletter name should agree with your communications strategy overall. Given you are a credit union, I would expect a down-to-earth and family oriented. I would think simplicity and straight-forwardness would fit, if that's the culture you have built with members and employees.

As I read your latest response, I thought of another name - "In the Loop."
