Domain Registration Allowing Multiple E-mail Addre

Posted by telemoxie on 250 Points
years ago, I registered some domains with a particular service provider. At that time, the service provider allowed you to provide an email address, and they would forward all e-mail sent to that domain to the specified e-mail address.

Now, that service is no longer available from the vendor.

I'm trying to help a friend (who has no money for marketing of course) set up a business, and I'd like to find an inexpensive way to register a domain and set up e-mail and all that good stuff. What sites do you have experience with and recommend?

What is your hosting provider supplying? Mine - available in NL - allows for multiple emails on one domain. You can set up forwarding and all sorts of things that I take for granted. The costs are minimal, and whilst not free, anybody who isn't spending the price of a mug of coffee each day on marketing isn't serious about their business.

That includes the infrastructure. Free websites are one thing, but they are for chancers.

Have you looked at setting up email accounts from your own domain using Gmail browser-based email system?

Pretty much any CPanel for a hosted website would allow email forwarding.

I sued GoDaddy for domain registrations, and 1and1.com for hosting. Easy to set up emails and such through 1and1. I have some that are forward, some that I download (SMTP), and some that are group emails (forwarded to multiple recipients). I think they just upped their rate for the basic service from $4 a month to $6 a month.

I've used 1and1.com for both domain registration and hosting. I've had no problems, and more email accounts available than I will ever need/use. Email forwarding is standard. Easy administration too. And very competitively priced.

Tell your friend that without a marketing investment in the business it's probably not worth trying to fix the email problem.
