Changing Qr Code Destination

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
It has been alleged by one of my colleagues that once a QR code has been generated for a particular (home page) URL address, it can later be re-routed to a more specific address.

Is this possible?

If you encode a URL in your QR code, you can redirect that URL (via your web domain's .htaccess file) to another address. However, if your QR code goes to your home page, you're likely not to want to do this redirection.

Yes, you can change the destination URL for a QR code if you are using a QR code generation system that allows you to do this, that is go into your QR account and change the destination URL. You may find one of these for free but typically you have to pay for these services and they also provide statistical information and are bundled with other features compared to free "static" QR code generators. Since there are so many available with different features sets I can't recommend one over the other. Search for "dynamic QR code generators"

    Hi there.

Know this topic is very old, but I've been looking into the exact same thing myself and found a Danish (I'm from Denmark) tool that offers some very powerful features. Check this: www.zumoqr.dk - It seems they are able to provide you with the possibility to both track your QR-codes but also to change the link of existing QR-codes. Very nice when you print the QR-code on your marketing material.
