Information On Israel Needed

Posted by Frank Hurtte on 750 Points
One of my clients is currently working on a technical automation-based project in Israel. As this is their first project for this client and their first project in Israel, we wonder what to expect of business practices. I would like to gather information on these points:

1) Payment letter of credit issues

2) Negotiating style

3) Issues with moving engineers, technicians from the US to Israel during the project

4) Pricing strategies - can you contrast them to say, Germany, Italy or the US.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Go to austrade.gov they have a breakdown of each country, but if you want tailored industry specific information you might want to commission a study yourself.

austrade is a good site. I have used it before. Here is the direct link to the part for Israel: https://www.austrade.gov.au/default.aspx?FolderID=2212

You may also want to consider the book Kiss, Bow, or Shake Hands by Terri Morrison, Wayne Conaway, and George Borden. I wrote a review of it at:

If the people may be there for any significant amount of time (more than a few weeks), you may want to consider getting the book Culture Shock - Israel. I have not read the Israel one, but have a few of the ones for other countries and found it to be very useful.
