Do Brand Managers Work For Media Marketing Strateg

would brand managers be able o sell air time if they go with the approach that thier product is a television program. or only the conventional meida marketers can sort it out?

    havent heard any tv channel to have a brand manager as such, since the TV channel is itself is a brand compared to BM of lux in Unilever.

    but if you structure your organogram in that manner then yes the Brand Manager for a TV channel can definitely sell air time.

    but i would suggest to appoint brand managers on the basis of program category, i.e. news & current affairs, soap operas, sports, business. THis will help each brand manager to focus on his/her segment and they will bring maximum revenue for each segment, hence company revenue synergy.

    thank you Mushfique, i think what u have mentioned, to catogorise each genre would be better and then offcourse synergy!

    Yes, you can sell your airtime based on the category of programme using category air sellers. Though normal nomenclature for these people aren't BMs. But if your organisation wishes to call them so, no harm in it...As the mighty Shaikh Sphere said, "what's in a name"!
