Brand Name For A New Modern, Cosmopolitan Hotel.

Posted by steveg on 500 Points
Looking for a brand name for a new modern hotel in Southern California. Current name choice does not reflect the cosmopolitan feel client is looking for.
This is an extended stay, suites hotel with generous amenities, office space and luxury appointments in each room. The hotel was designed to capture business people who are looking for no hassle, quality, clean and quiet environments. We would be competing directly for clients who would be going to the Hyatt Place, The Loft, and The Element styles of hotel. They are sophisticated and looking for designer looks as well as price matching quality.

    May I suggest 'The Q'.

Simple, elegant logo potential, re: Quality, Quiet rarely used letter. Way different IMHO.
    Easy for B'Berry txt too!

It is immediately memorable and begs the question (and subsequently stays on the mind longer) "....what does it mean ... What is it?" Creates some buzz but not overtly.

A name like Tapestry or some other over used quaint Name doesn't sound cosmo. or edgy enough for what you describe.

    Good Luck

You didn't say if there is already a brand name like "Hyatt" associated with the new hotel. For example, "Hyatt Pad".

If there is no other banding available, then keeping if simple is best.

    The Pad
    The Crib
    The Digs
    The Flat
    The Flop
    The Suite
    The Cave or La Cave

    or LuxoPad, LuxoCrib etc.

    Hope this helps,

    Steve:

This is an independent hotel. However, we would like the brand name to be accepted in different regions if we choose to develop new locations.

    All good ideas so far.

Great ideas guys. The creativity is flowing. Several of these can go to market right now. I wish I had more than one hotel...

Keep the ideas coming. I will probably need to close this tomorrow.

I like the "Q"... the abstractness of the name makes it very flexible. Business, pleasure, etc.

    The Environs (or just "Environs")
    The Coordinates
    Surroundings
    Aspect
    Summit Suites

    Good luck!

    Bill:
We are in agreement of brand alignment. I also checked out your site and offerings. I like your educational approach to what you do.

The hotel project is under the watch of a prestigious hospitality management firm who, from my perspective, has developed a brand promise and position in harmony with your posting. As a business traveler myself, their ideas are spot on.

The name of the hotel is in doubt because originally it was to be a one-off location and the name was regionally specific. Now multiple locations are being considered.

If you have time, tell me why Kozmo fits the profile and target market...being a big Seinfield fan, I immediately think of Kramer. It makes me smile, but I'm having trouble seeing it lit up spanning the side of a new hotel.

I appreciate your input, ideas, and most importantly, your time.
I've awarded points to those who submitted at least one name that will be considered for the short list. Again, thank you.
